The Colombian Conference on Computing (CCC) is an annual event organized by the Colombian Computing Society, aimed at promoting scientific discussion in the fields of computer science and informatics in Colombia. This conference brings together researchers, students, and professionals from both Colombia and abroad. Through its distinguished national and international keynote speakers, presenters, and workshops, the CCC event seeks to strengthen the development and positioning of computing in the country and the Latin American region.

Demos and Showcases

The 19th CCC invites the presentation and demonstration of projects, demos, software, interactive systems, video games, and hardware design and development that are of interest to the computing community. All submissions will undergo a double-blind review by a members of the program committee. The 19CCC will expected:
  • Products must be live presenting during the conference; therefore, they must be in a stable version.
  • An extended abstract may be written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese between 3 to 4 pages in length. Submissions in PDF format.
  • The extended abstract may be written in Word or LaTeX in full compliance with the Springer template.
  • The name of the authors must not be included in the document.
  • A document detailing the setup requirements for the product exhibition, using the provided template.
  • A demo video showcasing the product. The video must be privately published on YouTube, with a resolution of at least 180p and a duration of 1 to 3 minutes.
  • All accepted submitions will be presented during the conference and included in the local conference proceedings with ISBN.
  • One author must register as a presenter.
  • If the work is not presented at the conference, it will be removed from the proceedings.

MCC – Workshop on Women in Computing in Colombia

The main objective of MCC is to explore and reflect on the role of women in STEM and ICT fields, specifically within the field of computing in Colombia. The academic and professional communities are invited to submit research papers, case studies, or personal experiences focusing on the following topics:

  • Analysis of women’s activity and participation in STEM/ICT.
  • Women’s participation in scientific and technological events.
  • Inclusive software development with female involvement.
  • Initiatives to promote gender equity in STEM/ICT.
  • Experiences of women’s groups/communities in STEM/ICT areas.
  • Female leadership models in ICT.
  • Educational data analysis on women and computing.
  • Attracting female talent to the field of computing.

This workshop aims to bring together the scientific community interested in the development, application, and evaluation of computational systems applied to the medical and healthcare domains. The 19CCC is seeking proposals for Tutorials and Workshops of interest to our community. Proposals should be submitted in Spanish, with a length of 3 to 5 pages, in a free format.

  • For tutorials, it is recommended to include the syllabus, target audience, and hardware/software requirements.
  • For workshops, it is recommended to include details on the proposed agenda, potential invited speakers, and a draft call for papers.

Master’s and Doctoral Symposium – SMD2025

The 19th CCC provides an ideal place for graduate students in the field of computing to present and discuss their research progress. The Master’s and Doctoral Symposium (SMD2025) is an academic and research forum that offers graduate students from Higher Education Institutions the opportunity to interact with peers working on the foundations, techniques, tools, and applications of different topics with Computer Science and related fields.

Previously Published Works

The 19CCC invites submissions of previously published works. The goal of this session is to offer researchers the opportunity to share their results with the local community.

The call for participation is open to researchers wishing to present their published works from June 2023 to June 2025. Interested authors must submit a two-page summary, using the Springer template, highlighting the main contributions and methodology used. The summary  must be submitted through the Microsoft CMT System.

At least one author of the previously published work must register as a presenter or attendee and deliver the presentation during the event.

Speakers

José García-Alonso

He is a Full Professor at the University of Extremadura, Spain, where he obtained his PhD in Software Engineering in 2014. He is the co-founder of Gloin, a software consulting firm, and Health and Aging Tech, an eHealth company. His interests include Web Engineering, Quantum Software Engineering, Pervasive Computing, eHealth, and Gerontechnology.

Fabio A. González

Full professor in the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá campus, where he directs the Machine Learning, Perception and Discovery Lab (MindLab). He holds a degree in Systems Engineering and an MSc in Mathematics from the National University of Colombia, and an MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Memphis, USA. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, computational learning, quantum computing, and their applications in various fields. He has been a visiting professor at multiple universities in the US and Europe and has received recognitions such as the Latin American Research Award from Google Research and the Angela Restrepo Academic Excellence Award for best researcher in the field of Convergent Technologies from MinCiencias in 2022. The research.com website recognizes him as the first researcher in Computer Science in Colombia.

Gloria Díaz

She holds a degree in Systems Engineering and a PhD in Engineering from the National University of Colombia, earning her degrees with distinction and honors, respectively. She has worked for over 20 years in higher education institutions, working in teaching, research, and management roles in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. Her research focuses on technology and computer science applied to solving health problems. She has participated in over 15 research projects in public and private institutions; she has co-authored over 60 scientific publications; she has been editor-in-chief of the journal Tecnológicas since 2016; and she has served as a peer reviewer for various high-impact international journals. Her work has earned her awards and distinctions, including the “Dr. Ángela Restrepo Moreno Women Researchers” award and the “Greatest Impact Research” award for the project entitled “Abbreviated computer-assisted magnetic resonance protocol for the detection and categorization of lesions suspected of breast cancer”, awarded in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Her current interest focuses on the area of ​​​​development of artificial intelligence models for cancer control in real-life environments.

Dra. Lorena Beatriz Martínez Elizalde

Full-time professor and researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey campus, where she teaches courses in programming, data science, artificial intelligence, and video game development. Her teaching work is characterized by the integration of innovative methodologies such as gamification and project-based learning, with the goal of training interdisciplinary students in technological and creative areas. In recent years, she has conducted research addressing the use of gamification for teaching computer science to students from different disciplines, as well as the creation of inclusive and personalized digital experiences. Her recent publications include contributions on artificial intelligence algorithms in video games, strategies for promoting reading through interactive products, and studies on the perception of STEM among young people. She has also actively participated in international conferences such as EDULEARN and in organizing initiatives for the professionalization of the video game industry. As an academic leader, Dr. Martínez Elizalde has collaborated in the founding of the International Video Game Development Network (REDINDVJ) and is a member of the IEEE Game Tasks Force, spaces through which she promotes research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the creation of international networks in the field of video games. She also advises on technological and data analysis projects, both in the education sector and in the creative and business industries.

Daniela López De Luise

Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering (University of Buenos Aires) and holds a PhD in Computer Science from the National University of La Plata. She holds an Honorary Doctorate from the IETC University. Her research areas include Machine Learning and Automatic Reasoning, AI in video games/gamification, and practical applications of neural networks and their variants. Her three authored theories are: Morphosyntactic Linguistic Wavelets (MLW), Harmonics Systems (HS), and Bacterial Consciousness (BC). She is currently working on a project: Chaos & Language Theory (CLT), to understand, generate, and process natural languages ​​for dialogue in Spanish.

The 19CCC will be held in person at the Nueva Granada Campus of the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada. The Nueva Granada Campus is located at Kilometer 2 on the Cajicá-Zipaquirá road in Cundinamarca, a beautiful state in the heart of Colombia, rich in natural, cultural, and historical wonders.
Cajicá and Zipaquirá towns are located in the region known as the Sabana de Bogotá, which lies on the Eastern Cordillera, in the southern part of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense—the largest plateau in the Colombian Andes—at an average altitude of 2,600 meters above sea level. Among the main tourist attractions in the area are the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, the Nemocón Salt Mine, Jaime Duque Park, and the Guatavita Lagoon.

The future of computing is being debated at the Colombian Computing Congress – 19CCC: join the community that is transforming Colombia through science, technology, and innovation.

The Colombian Conference on Computing (CCC) is an annual event organized by the Colombian Computing Society, aimed at promoting scientific discussion in the fields of computer science and informatics in Colombia. This conference brings together researchers, students, and professionals from both Colombia and abroad. 

Through its distinguished national and international keynote speakers, presenters, and workshops, the CCC event seeks to strengthen the development and positioning of computing in the country and the Latin American region.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.
