Master’s and Doctoral Symposium – SMD2025

The 19th CCC provides an ideal place for graduate students in the field of computing to present and discuss their research progress. The Master’s and Doctoral Symposium (SMD2025) is an academic and research forum that offers graduate students from Higher Education Institutions the opportunity to interact with peers working on the foundations, techniques, tools, and applications of different topics with Computer Science and related fields.

Modalities

• Final Stage Work: This category is intended for students in the final years of their studies who have results they wish to present and discuss with the Colombian community
• Work in progress: This category is for students in the middle of their studies who want to share and discuss partial results, challenges, and strategies to address them
• Early-Stage Work: This category is aimed at students in the initial stage of their graduate studies who wish to discuss and present their research proposal, methodological approach, and potential contributions.

Submission Instructions

1. The student must write and submit a 6 to 7-page document in English on the SMD25 platform, following the Springer template, with the following structure:

• • • • Introduction: This section should present the research problem addressed by the student, followed by a justification explaining why this problem is relevant. Additionally, the justification should clarify whether previous research or related work has addressed the problem and with what approach. The submission must explicitly state the work modality for SMD2025 (Final Stage Work, Work in progress, or Early-Stage Work).
      • Methodology: This section should present the hypothesis, research statement, or research question. It must include the methodological strategy proposed, under development, or implemented. Additionally, it should explain how the student evaluated or plans to evaluate the results.
      • Partial Results: A description of the partial results obtained so far.
      • Expected or Achieved Contributions: A discussion of the expected or achieved contributions of the research, including a review of related work.Recommendation Letter: The student’s thesis advisor must submit a recommendation letter indicating the student’s academic period.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind review by two members of the program committee. Accepted works will be presented during the conference and included in the conference proceedings, with an assigned ISBN. The student must register as a student participant, but if the work is not presented at the event, it will be removed from the proceedings.
